Egypt took the lead early on thanks to a goal from Mahmoud Sabre Abdelmohsen Hassan barely 10 minutes into the game.
However, in the 37th minute, Yanis Begraoui of Morocco equalised, resulting in a deadlock that lasted until the end of normal time and forced the match into extra time.
Moroccan midfielder Oussama Targhalline emerged as the hero in extra time, scoring the game-winning free kick.
The hosts celebrated their victory by raising the AFCON trophy in front of a jubilant home audience.
