Austin Jay Jay Okocha, a Super Eagles icon, visited the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium as he joyfully handed out the U-23 Africa Cup of Nations trophy before of the final match, according to Soccernet.ng.

As the highly anticipated U-23 AFCON final between Morocco and Egypt unfolded in Rabat, the legendary figure of the Nigerian grabbed centre stage.

The match between the host country and the incumbent champions was exciting and tense, necessitating extra time to determine the final victor.

Egypt took the lead early on thanks to a goal from Mahmoud Sabre Abdelmohsen Hassan barely 10 minutes into the game.

However, in the 37th minute, Yanis Begraoui of Morocco equalised, resulting in a deadlock that lasted until the end of normal time and forced the match into extra time.

Moroccan midfielder Oussama Targhalline emerged as the hero in extra time, scoring the game-winning free kick.

The hosts celebrated their victory by raising the AFCON trophy in front of a jubilant home audience.

Aissam Charai’s resolute warriors won the AFCON title with a hard-fought 2-1 extra-time triumph against reigning champions Egypt.
