Declan Rice has agreed to terms with West Ham United, a cash-plus-players deal is in the works.

Declan Rice has made arrangements with various teams to leave West Ham before official bids arrive at the London Stadium, according to Football Transfers.

The same publication earlier stated that the Hammers skipper has agreed to a deal with Arsenal if he moved to the Emirates, but it now appears that he has done so with other suitors as well.

However, no sum has been agreed upon between West Ham and any of the interested sides, with 90-minute reporting offers set to emerge soon after the Europa Conference League final on Wednesday night (7 June).

Furthermore, according to Football Transfers, “It is thought that they don’t actually need as much money as they are asking for in the Rice negotiations – they are financially in a very good place due to an influx of cash paid into the club that was owed to them, as well as investment from their owners.”

As a result, if a bidder is unable to pay the whole sum, the Irons “will” accept a cash plus players arrangement.

Rice is either not asking for much from the teams interested in him, or they all regard him so highly that they are willing to provide a lot right now if his agency has managed to get agreements in place for numerous potential alternatives before the season ends.

The final versus Fiorentina will undoubtedly be on the England star’s mind, and no choice can be taken until an agreement is reached with West Ham as a club.

However, it does not appear that there has been any trouble on the player side of things, and it appears that the opportunity to include players in the sale may increase teams’ prospects of achieving the asking price.

Who would be offered in a trade is clearly the most important factor, and presuming David Moyes is the man to continue managing the Hammers next season, pending events at Celtic and elsewhere over the summer, he will have to give the go-ahead for it to be a feasible possibility.

If West Ham is willing to support the Scot for the foreseeable future, it will save him the trouble of pursuing certain new recruits if he can include them in a deal.

In any case, it appears like the Hammers will receive good value out of the trade, especially with Rice allegedly determined to ensure that they do.

How much a club “needs” from a trade is a moving target, but in almost every case, the ideal number is simply as much as feasible.
