According to the Italian transfer expert, Manchester City is still in the race to sign the West Ham United captain, but Arsenal remain in pole position to sign him this summer.

With the triple champions waiting in the wings, Romano stated that the Gunners “must be quick” if they want to grab the 24-year-old’s services.

He also disclosed that Pep Guardiola’s side inquired about Rice at the end of last week, looking for additional information on what a move for the Englishman would involve.

According to Sky Sports, Arsenal has launched a second approach for Rice for £90 million. This sum would consist of £75 million initially and £15 million in add-ons. However, this is likely to be denied since the Hammers want more than £100 million.
