Labour Party suffers setback as court rules on Peter Obi’s request to interrogate INEC officials.

The Labour Party’s plan to question the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has been suspended.

On Saturday, June 10, the election petition tribunal denied Obi’s plea to examine INEC on its planning, preparations, and conduct of the 2023 presidential elections.

In her judgement on Saturday, Justice Haruna Tsammani ruled that Obi and LP’s motion was effectively abandoned.

On Saturday, June 10, the Presidential Election Petition Court, sitting in Abuja, delivered a decision on the Labour Party’s petition. According to Vanguard, the tribunal dismissed an appeal submitted by LP flagbearer Peter Obi for permission to question the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on the technology used to conduct the 2023 presidential elections.
