25

Fenerbahce, The Turkish Super Lig side, is considering the possibility of signing Nigerian international, Anthony Nwakaeme, ahead of next season.

Reports in the Turkish press mentioned the Yellow Canaries sporting director, Emre Belözoğlu, has opened contract talks with Nwakaeme’s agent and he requested for more time to think about the offer from the Istanbul giants.

Nwakaeme has a release clause of six million euros and he can decide to terminate his contract with Trabzonspor earlier than the expiration of the deal by paying his release clause.

The 31-year-old has a contract with the Turkish Cup winners until the end of the 2021-2022 season.

Nwakaeme is probably the most consistent Nigerian performer in Europe over the past three seasons, the striker had a direct hand in 25 goals (14 goals, 11 assists) and in 43 appearances last season.
