Sudan will maintain military-technical cooperation with Russia and is interested in purchasing aircraft, according to Malik Agar, deputy chairman of Sudan’s Transitional Sovereign Council.

According to Agar, Sudanese pilots are trained in Russia, and the Sudanese military is also trained there.

Agar emphasised that technical assistance for the equipment previously acquired by the republic is also continue within the context of established procedures.

“This [Khartoum’s interest in developing military-technical cooperation with Moscow] goes without saying, because Sudan has had protocols on military cooperation with Russia since the establishment of its independence,” Agar told Sputnik.
