Nigeria, Morocco, Cote d’Ivoire, Liberia, Benin, Guinea Sign MoUs on Nigeria-Morocco Gas Pipeline
On Friday, four significant Memoranda of Understanding linked to the Nigeria-Morocco Gas Pipeline Project were signed at the headquarters of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).
In addition, the project’s Steering Committee met to discuss the project’s progress and strategic direction.
According to a statement by Garba Deen Muhammad, Chief Corporate Communications Officer, NNPC Limited, four Memoranda of Understanding were signed on Friday, June 16, in Abuja as part of the Nigeria-Morocco Gas Pipeline Project.

Once finished, the project would improve the monetization of the impacted African nations’ natural gas resources while also providing a new alternative export route to Europe.
The signings took place on the sidelines of the Nigeria-Morocco Gas Pipeline Project Steering Committee meeting, which was attended by representatives from ECOWAS and all participating countries, including Nigeria, Benin, Togo, Ghana, Côte d’Ivoire, Liberia, Sierra Leone, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, The Gambia, Senegal, Mauritania, and Morocco.
