Edo Govt Sacks 13 Varsity Lecturers, Demotes Others, Gives Reason

About 13 members of staff of Ambrose Alli University( AAU), Ekpoma, have been dismissed for colorful cases of misconduct by the staff correctional commission of the University The acting VC of the academy, Prof. Asomwan Adagbonyi, verified this while presenting the commission’s report to the special intervention platoon Adagbonyi noted that 132 of the cases have been concluded and opinions taken on them, while 77 cases were still pending.

The Edo state government, headed by Governor Godwin Obaseki, has sacked 13 speakers of state-possessed Ambrose Ali University( AAU), Ekpoma. According to a report by The Punch, the speakers were sacked over alleged offenses ranging from falsification of age, fraud, misconduct, highway robbery, and sexual importunity, among others.

Why AAU speakers were sacked Besides, an unidentified number of others were disrated for other offenses, PM News report further verified.

The institution’s vice chancellor, Professor Asomwan Sunny Adagbonyin, made this exposure on Monday, May 22, while presenting the university correctional commission’s report to members of the AAU Special Intervention Platoon ( SIT). According to Adagbonyin, the erring staff was sacked due to the recommendations of the institution’s correctional commission which set up them shamefaced of the offenses. The VC further bared that an associate professor and a speaker were dismissed for collecting unapproved tax from scholars while another speaker criminated for sexual importunity was also dismissed, This Day report added.
