Details of the federal government’s discussion on fuel subsidies with the NLC have come to light.

No agreement was achieved during the meeting between leaders of organized labor and the federal government at the State House in Abuja about the removal of fuel subsidies.

Following President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s pronouncement that fuel subsidies were no longer in effect and the introduction of new Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) rates by NNPCL, the meeting of the Chief of Staff to the President took place in the conference room of the White House.

The era of petroleum subsidies is ended, according to Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the next president of Nigeria, who took office on Monday, May 29, 2023. Fuel subsidies were not included in the 2023 Budget, according to President Tinubu, and they are no longer paid.
