Tinubu Meets With Nigerians In France

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu met with Nigerians in Paris on Friday after attending the Global Financing Pact Summit.

The Nigerian Mission in France and the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM) organised the meeting.

It is his first presidential diaspora activity since his May 29 inauguration.

During the interactive session, the President explained why he removed Godwin Emefiele as Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).

President Bola Tinubu approved Emefiele’s suspension as Governor of the apex bank on Friday, June 9.

According to the President, his suspension was the result of “an ongoing investigation of his office and the planned reforms in the Nigerian economy’s financial sector.”

During his interactive session, however, President Buhari accused Emefiele of mismanaging the Nigerian financial system.
