The federal government has reopened the Seme Border for vehicle importation.
The Federal Government of Nigeria has approved the reopening of the Seme land border for vehicle importation.
Ibrahim Musa, Director of Road Transport at the Ministry of Transportation, made the announcement on Wednesday during a meeting of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) between Nigerian and Benin Republic delegations.
According to him, the change was precipitated by concerns from goods forwarders operating at the Seme Border.

“I was here with the former Minister of State for Transportation when goods forwarders pleaded for the border to be reopened for free movement of goods and services,” he explained.
According to Musa, the former minister directed his team to produce a note to that effect, which was taken into account when it was forwarded to the administration.
