Presidential candidate explains why Atiku and Obi would be defeated in the Election Petition Tribunal
Adewole Adebayo, the presidential candidate for the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in the 2023 General Election, has explained why the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and Labour Party (LP) presidential candidates are expected to lose their cases at the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal.
Adebayo resorted to Twitter to offer his thoughts on the subject.
He stated that while the PDP’s Atiku Abubakar, his former running mate Peter Obi, and the Labour Party had submitted their views before the Election Tribunal, he considered their efforts contributed little to the cause of justice. According to Adebayo, even if the defence from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) was weak or nonexistent, their case suffered from non-issues, a lack of proof, and an expected defeat.

As @atiku @OfficialPDPNig @PeterObi @NgLabour closed at Election Tribunal, it is fair to say that they have added new points to our jurisprudence but nothing to the course of justice: (a) non-issues (b)no evidence and (c) sure to lose even with a weak or no defence by @inecnigeria.
Does the inevitable dismissal of these petitions mean the end of the duty incumbent on the Nigerian political class to reach a solid consensus that the electorate of Nigeria deserves a clean, clear, and credible election devoid of trauma and angst? I don’t think so. We must meet.
