INEC has decided on a date for the review of the 2023 general election.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has set a timeframe for a general election review in 2023.

According to Festus Okoye, national commissioner of INEC and head of the information and voter education committee, the goal of the election review is to draw lessons and create future strategies.

According to Okoye, the electoral body has convened review sessions following each general election since 2011.

However, it has been announced that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) will examine the 2023 general elections on July 4.

According to the Daily Post, Festus Okoye, national commissioner of INEC and head of the committee for information and voter education, said the review will begin on July 4 and finish on August 5.

According to Okoye, who made the announcement in a statement on Thursday, June 22, the study would focus on all aspects of electoral activities before, during, and after the elections.

According to Okoye, INEC has held review sessions following each general election since 2011. He explained that the goal of the assessment is to take lessons from the elections and plan for the future.

The review will begin with a meeting of the resident electoral commissioners (RECs) on July 4, 2023, and finish with the commission’s retreat on August 5, 2023, according to the announcement.

In addition to the statement, the commission’s regular and ad hoc staff, including RECs, 774 electoral officers, heads of departments, administrative secretaries, and some presiding officers and collation/returning officers, would be involved in the state-level internal examination.

The external engagement will involve important parties such as political parties, security agencies, election observers, the media, and service providers such as transporters who permitted the movement of people and election-related objects.

According to the statement, “the review will focus on all aspects of electoral activities before, during, and after the elections.”
