Liverpool could be missing up to six players for their Premier League clash with Tottenham Hotspur.

Spurs are due to host the Reds on Sunday afternoon in what is set to be a pivotal clash for both sides, with Liverpool second in the table, just a point behind Manchester City, while Spurs can move within a point of the top four with a win.

Antonio Conte is set to be without several important players due to the ongoing COVID-19 outbreak in the squad, which has seen their last three games either canceled or postponed.

However, the home side have been handed a boost ahead of the game, as Liverpool may be without influential trio Virgil Van Dijk, Fabinho, and Curtis Jones.

The three players missed the Reds’ win over Newcastle United on Thursday after returning suspected positive COVID-19 tests, but it was not confirmed whether these results were accurate or not.

In his pre-match press conference on Friday, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp said they were still unclear whether any of the players would be able to face Spurs.

He said: “It’s not confirmed yet. It’s an ongoing process – but they are not here.

“They are fine. At this moment no one else is positive but it is pretty early still, and the players don’t come here until later so we will see.”

While the availability of Van Dijk, Fabinho, and Jones remains up in the air, Liverpool will definitely be without long-term absentees Adrian, Nathaniel Phillips, and Harvey Elliott, but Divock Origi may be available for selection after recovering from a knee injury.

In spite of these missing players, the Spurs will still have to work extremely hard to get anything out of a rampant Liverpool side that is looking for their seventh straight league win.
