The UK has recorded 30,144 new Covid cases on Saturday, with 164 more deaths according to new data.
The statistics show that the case numbers are continuing to flat line despite the return to school and easing of restrictions.

On August 18, a month ago, there were 111 new Covid deaths recorded, making today’s data an increase of 47%.
The new data means deaths in the last seven days were up 2% on the week before, while cases continued to fall, down 20.4% on the week before.
There were also 33,904 new cases recorded then – meaning infections have decreased in the UK by 11%.
There has now been a total of 7,400,739 cases overall in the UK and 135,147 deaths.
Hospitalisations are continuing to fall with 932 people admitted on September 14, the latest data available, and this is down 13.1% on the previous week.
The government has also revealed that as of Saturday there have now been 92.9 million vaccine doses given out in the UK. That breaks down as 48.5 million first doses given out and 44.4 million second jabs.
The school rollout of jabs for children aged 12 to 15 has now been given the go-ahead and vaccinations are set to start next Wednesday.
It comes as sweeping changes are being made to the travel rules to allow families a sunshine getaway over the October half term.
The amber list will be scrapped from October 4 to simplify the advice into “go” and “no go” destinations – with a single red list of countries.
And the red list will be slimmed down, reducing the number of destinations from where arrivals to the UK need to spend 10 days in a Government-approved quarantine hotel.
Eight countries will be removed from the red list from 4am on Wednesday 22 September, including Turkey and the Maldives.
Transport Secretary Grant Shapps also announced that from October travellers returning to England will no longer have to take a PCR test two days after arrival. Instead, they can take the quicker and cheaper lateral flow tests.
It has led to half-term bookings shooting up by 200% since the news of the relaxation of restrictions.
