Super Eagles to face Sao Tome after CAF kicked out Mauritius
The Super Eagles will now do battle with São Tomé
and Principe after the
Confederation of African Football (CAF) kicked out Mauritius from the 2023 Africa

Soa Time and Principe will now join Nigeria, Sierra Leone and Guinea-Bissau in
Group A after CAF upheld their appeal against Mauritius’s protest that they fielded
an illegible player in a qualifying clash between the two countries.
CAF also ruled out that the São Tomé and Príncipe Football Association shall be
reimbursed the Appeal fees.
The Falcons were initially thrown out of the qualifiers after captain Luis Leal failed to
provide a valid Covid-19 test result before their preliminary round clash against the
Dodos in March
Andriano Eusebio’s side will confront the Djurtus of Guinea-Bissau in their first game
in the qualifiers.
They will host the Super Eagles at home on June 13 in Rabat, Morocco as their home
ground, Estadio Nacional 12 de Julho is not approved to host international matches
by CAF and FIFA.
